VISA GUIDELINES

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

  1. There are two options to obtain Tanzania Visa. These are Online Visa Platform and On-Arrival Visa Platform.This means, after introduction of Online Visa System, Visa are no longer issued at the Embassies;
  2. The On-Arrival Visa facility may only be used by applicants whose nationalities do not fall under Referral Visa category. Despite having the On Arrival Visa facility, it is recommended for all applicants to use online Visa platform;
  3. Online Visa applicants are advised to make their applications through the Official Tanzania Immigration website (www.immigration.go.tz) ONLY or directly through the link: visa.immigration.go.tz and Not through any other links;
  4. Applicants must ensure that their passports have a validity of at least six months and at least one unused visa page before submitting their application;
  5. No refund will be made in respect of any rejected Visa application;
  6. As reflected in the Client Service Charter, the normal Visa applications may be processed within ten days. However, some applications as may be determined by the authority, may call for more processing time;
  7. Applicants must ensure that their passports have a validity of at least six months and at least one unused visa page before submitting their application;

  10. Applicants whose nationals fall under Referral Visa category are not eligible for on arrival Visa platform. They must apply Online. Before getting approval of their Visa, they are not advised to pay for flight tickets or hotel accommodation. They may only make flight booking or make hotel reservations; but actual payments should only be done after they get approval for their Visa. Also, such applicants are advised to apply at least 6 weeks before their date of travel;

Note:

It should be noted that the possession of Visa is not a final authority to enter the United Republic of Tanzania. The Immigration Officer at the Entry point may refuse a holder of Visa to enter, if he is satisfied that the holder is unable to fulfil Immigration entry requirements or if the presence of such person or visitors in the United Republic of Tanzania would be contrary to the National Interests. Also, Visitors MUST show their Return Ticket upon arrival

ORDINARY (SINGLE ENTRY) VISA

  1. Copy of the applicant s valid passport (biographic data page);
  2. Return ticket of the flight; Dully filled in declaration form.
  3. 50 USD visa fee.

MULTIPLE VISA (DIRECTOR)

  1. A recent passport size photo of the applicant;
  2. Copy of the applicant s valid passport (biographic data page);
  3. Return Ticket of the flight;
  4. A covering letter from the company;
  5. A copy of registration certificate/certificate of compliance of the company;
  6. BRELA SEARCH Document ( Proof of being a Director from BRELA)
  7. 100 USD Visa fee;

MULTIPLE VISA (CONSULTANCY WITH GOVERNMENT MINISTRIES/BILATERAL AGREEMENTS)

  1. A recent passport size photo of the applicant;
  2. Copy of the applicant s valid passport (biographic data page);
  3. Return Ticket of the flight;
  4. A covering letter from respective government Ministry or Institution; OR ;
  5. A covering letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation describing the bilateral agreement;
  6. 100 USD Visa fee;

MULTIPLE VISA (FAMILY VISIT)

  1. A recent passport size photo of the applicant;
  2. Copy of the applicant s valid passport (biographic data page);
  3. Return Ticket of the flight;
  4. An invitation letter from the spouse or child to whom the visit is made;
  5. Attached marriage certificate (If applicant visits a spouse); or birth certificate If applicant visits his child/children;
  6. Valid passport or national ID of the spouse or child If applicable or valid Residence Permit If the wife or child is resident
  7. 100 USD Visa fee;

MULTIPLE VISA (USA NATIONALS VISITING FOR HOLIDAY/TOURISM)

  1. A recent passport size photo of the applicant;
  2. Copy of the applicant s valid passport (biographic data page);
  3. Return Ticket of the flight;
  4. 100 USD Visa fee;

MULTIPLE VISA (OTHER)

  1. Any Multiple visa applied online which will not fall in the categories indicated above, MUST be supported by the following attachments:
  2. A recent passport size photo of the applicant;
  3. Copy of the applicant s valid passport (biographic data page);
  4. A permission letter from the Commissioner General of Immigration or commissioner of Immigration, Zanzibar;
  5. Return Ticket of the flight;
  6. 100 USD Visa fee;

BUSINESS VISA

  1. Copy of the applicant s valid passport (biographic data page);
  2. Return ticket of the flight;
  3. 250 USD visa fee.
  4. A work contract or any proof of the work/assignment to be performed within a period not exceeding three months;

TRANSIT VISA

  1. Copy of the applicant s valid passport (biographic data page);
  2. 30 USD visa fee.
  3. An entry visa or onward ticket to the intended country of destination;

STUDENT VISA

  1. Copy of the applicant s valid passport (biographic data page);
  2. 50 USD, 250 USD or 550 USD Visa fee depending on the category and duration.
  3. Covering letter from the host institution/college where the foreign student will be hosted, the letter must detail the course/field and duration of the programme to be attended
  4. An open return ticket

What does ARGeo-C10 consist of

The Conference consists of: (i) 21-22 October 2024: The Short Courses; (ii) 23-25 October 2024: The Main Conference; (iii) 26-27 October 2024: The Field Trip.

Where and when were the previous conferences held?

The Conferences have been hosted under the auspices of the UNEP Africa Geothermal Development facility Programme (ARGeo). The nine previous biennial conferences were held in Ethiopia (2006), Uganda (2008), Djibouti (2010), Kenya (2012), Tanzania (2014), Ethiopia (2016), Rwanda (2018), a virtual one in Kenya (2020) and in Djibouti (2022).

What is the aim of this ARGeo C10 Conference?

The aim of this biennial conference is to promote regional cooperation, create an information exchange platform on the exploration, development, investment and utilization of the geothermal resources in the region.

Will there be field trips?

Post conference field trips will feature geothermal fields in Mbeya (i.e Songwe and Ngozi).

What is the registration fee?

The registration fee for the main conference will be 600 USD. These fee will be for all conference facilities (bags, giveaways, proceedings of papers (CD) etc and Lunch, official dinners). Fees for accompanying delegates will have a standard rate of USD 400

Are there any fellowships?

Fellowships will be offered to African participants from within the region. These will be for those whose papers have been accepted. The number of Fellowships that can be granted will be largely dependent on the amount of money that can be raised for this purpose
