The ARGeo-C10 Post Conference Field Trips have been scheduled as from the 26th to the 27th October 2024. The trip will be a 2 days and 1 night trip by road, with a standard rate per person of 600 US Dollars (USD) There will be an early bird registraion discount of 550 USD for those who registered before 30th September 2024.
The Field Trip consists of:
The field trip at Ngozi and Songwe in Mbeya will be a one day trip by air with a capacity of 30 people.
A field visit in Mbeya to the Ngozi area geothermal prospects and various safari tours will be organized on 26-27 October 2024. Delegates of the Tenth African Rift Geothermal Conference (ARGeo-C10) will be selected to spend two days post-conference sampling Tanzania’s countryside.

The Conference consists of: (i) 21-22 October 2024: The Short Courses; (ii) 23-25 October 2024: The Main Conference; (iii) 26-27 October 2024: The Field Trip.
The Conferences have been hosted under the auspices of the UNEP Africa Geothermal Development facility Programme (ARGeo). The nine previous biennial conferences were held in Ethiopia (2006), Uganda (2008), Djibouti (2010), Kenya (2012), Tanzania (2014), Ethiopia (2016), Rwanda (2018), a virtual one in Kenya (2020) and in Djibouti (2022).
The aim of this biennial conference is to promote regional cooperation, create an information exchange platform on the exploration, development, investment and utilization of the geothermal resources in the region.
Post conference field trips will feature geothermal fields in Mbeya (i.e Songwe and Ngozi).
The registration fee for the main conference will be 600 USD. These fee will be for all conference facilities (bags, giveaways, proceedings of papers (CD) etc and Lunch, official dinners). Fees for accompanying delegates will have a standard rate of USD 400
Fellowships will be offered to African participants from within the region. These will be for those whose papers have been accepted. The number of Fellowships that can be granted will be largely dependent on the amount of money that can be raised for this purpose
