The number of Fellowships that can be granted will be largely dependent on the amount of money that can be raised for this purpose. Priority will be given to young professionals working directly with geothermal. Partial Fellowships may also be offered, based on the Committee’s decision and the availability of funds.

The Conference consists of: (i) 21-22 October 2024: The Short Courses; (ii) 23-25 October 2024: The Main Conference; (iii) 26-27 October 2024: The Field Trip.
The Conferences have been hosted under the auspices of the UNEP Africa Geothermal Development facility Programme (ARGeo). The nine previous biennial conferences were held in Ethiopia (2006), Uganda (2008), Djibouti (2010), Kenya (2012), Tanzania (2014), Ethiopia (2016), Rwanda (2018), a virtual one in Kenya (2020) and in Djibouti (2022).
The aim of this biennial conference is to promote regional cooperation, create an information exchange platform on the exploration, development, investment and utilization of the geothermal resources in the region.
Post conference field trips will feature geothermal fields in Mbeya (i.e Songwe and Ngozi)together with serene sites of the Ngorongoro crater and Manyara National Park
The registration fee for the main conference will be 600 USD. These fee will be for all conference facilities (bags, giveaways, proceedings of papers (CD) etc and Lunch, official dinners). Fees for accompanying delegates will have a standard rate of USD 400
