MFA-ICEIDA Visit to UN Environment

Dr. David Bjornsson, and Mr Hannes Hauksson who are representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Icelandic International Development Agency (MFA-ICEIDA), visited the office of UN Environment on 2 February 2017. The Iceland International development Agency is one of the collaborating partners in the implementation of the UN Environment’s African Rift Geothermal Development (ARGeo) project. The Icelandic International Development Agency -ICEIDA is financing up to USD 1million of the just-begun second phase of the project.

The purpose of this visit was:

  1. to enhance and strengthen the collaboration between the two organizations in implementation of the second phase of the Project and
  2. discuss the donor agreement to be signed between the two organizations for ICEIDA’s financial support. The second phase of the project will be implemented in two years (January 2017 to December 2018).
