ARGeo 2015 HIGHLIGHTS
- In addition to
the two successfully
completed
projects in Kenya
(Silali) and Ethiopia
(Tendaho) in the year
2014, UNEP ARGeo
started projects of
surface exploration
studies in other three
geothermal prospects:
Eritrea (Alid), Tanzania (Ngozi)
and Uganda (Kibiro) in 2015.
- UNEP provisioned various geo-scientic
equipment and hired three Senior Geothermal
Consultants (Geologist, Geochemist and
Geophysicist) to successfully implement these
three projects. It is planned to complete at least
two of the three projects by third quarter of 2016
for submission to the AUC-KfW Geothermal Risk
Mitigation Facility (GRMF) and other developers for
further investment.
